Betting Glossary — Key Terms Explained
Whether you are new to online gambling or simply want to sharpen your knowledge, this glossary covers the essential terms you will encounter at bos991 and across the industry. Understanding these concepts helps you make smarter, more informed decisions at every stage of play.
RTP (Return to Player)
RTP is the percentage of all wagered money that a slot or casino game is statistically expected to pay back to players over a large number of rounds. A game with 96% RTP will, on average, return Rp 96 for every Rp 100 wagered over time.
House Edge
The house edge is the mathematical advantage the casino holds over the player on any given game. It is the inverse of the player's expected return — a game with a 4% house edge means the casino retains an average of 4% of all bets placed on that game in the long run.
Wager / Stake
A wager or stake is the amount of money you commit to a single bet or spin. At bos991, minimum stakes start from as low as Rp 1.000 depending on the game, allowing players of all bankroll sizes to participate.
Odds
Odds represent the likelihood of a particular outcome occurring and determine how much you win relative to your stake. bos991 displays odds in decimal format (e.g., 2.50 means a winning Rp 100.000 bet returns Rp 250.000 including the original stake).
Spread / Asian Handicap
A spread bet — known as Asian Handicap in football — levels the playing field between mismatched teams by giving the underdog a head start in goals. This eliminates the draw outcome and typically offers better value than standard 1X2 markets.
Parlay / Accumulator (Mix Parlay)
A parlay — called mix parlay locally — combines multiple individual selections into a single bet. All selections must win for the bet to pay out, but the combined odds multiply to produce significantly larger potential winnings than single bets.
Live Bet (In-Play Betting)
Live betting allows you to place wagers on a match or event while it is already in progress. Odds update in real time based on the current score, time remaining, and match momentum, opening up dynamic wagering opportunities unavailable before kickoff.
Cashout
The cashout feature lets you settle a bet before the event concludes, locking in a portion of your potential winnings or cutting your losses early. bos991 offers partial and full cashout on selected sportsbook markets.
Bankroll Management
Bankroll management refers to the practice of allocating a fixed budget for gambling and staking only a small proportion of that budget per session. Effective bankroll management extends play time and reduces the risk of losing your entire balance in a single session.
Volatility (Variance)
Slot volatility describes how frequently and how much a game pays out. High-volatility games pay out less often but with larger amounts when they do; low-volatility games deliver smaller, more frequent wins. Choose based on your risk tolerance and session length preference.
Free Spin
A free spin is a slot round played without deducting funds from your balance. Free spins are awarded through in-game bonus features, welcome bonuses, or daily promotional offers at bos991, letting you extend play and win real money at no additional cost.
Wagering Requirement (Rollover)
A wagering requirement specifies how many times you must bet a bonus amount before withdrawing associated winnings. For example, a 10x rollover on a Rp 500.000 bonus means you must place Rp 5.000.000 in total wagers before the bonus converts to withdrawable cash.
